A studio handed down
Two generations, one workshop, and more than 35 years of classical ornament made by hand in Lahore.

Studio Royal Arts is an art fabrication studio in Lahore, known for classical architectural ornament and sculpture for homes, buildings and gardens.
Over more than 35 years we have delivered thousands of residential and commercial projects, from refined interiors to signature garden landscapes.
We work for a discerning clientele, turning creative visions into finished pieces, and bring the same care to every space we touch.
Through the years
The beginning
Naazir Hussain's atelier
The studio starts as the atelier of Naazir Hussain. His son Shahid grows up among moulds, plaster and drawings.
1980s
A sculptor's training
Shahid Hussain models figurative work in clay and plaster: busts, seated figures and reliefs that still define the studio's hand.

1986
First major commissions
Major private and corporate commissions begin, the start of a client list that has grown for almost four decades.
1991
The Dream Garden
Shahid Hussain draws a utopian garden of colonnades, domes and fountains, a vision the studio has been building towards ever since.

1998
Into fashion
A first piece for a fashion house opens years of work for boutiques, later including Sana Safinaz and Stylo.
2008
A national commission
Shahid Hussain models the portrait relief for the commemorative coin of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Today
Lahore, and beyond
From the showroom in DHA Phase 7, the studio works with homeowners, architects and designers in Pakistan and abroad.
From the archive
Prints from the studio’s early years: the workshop at work, and pieces made long before phones had cameras.
Every piece starts as a drawing
Design drawings for door surrounds, a staircase niche and a ceiling.
